During this month we received eighteen different Grant and Sponsorship applications from groups throughout our district. This has been one of the largest grant rounds we have had to consider, and in fact, came close to $200,000 in requests for support.
Each of these requests is considered on its merit with final outcomes being known at the start of May. What is really pleasing is the range of requests, all of which add value to both the groups and in a number of cases the wider Community.
What does become clear is that there is a huge demand from groups that are providing a broad range of opportunities for members of our community to participate in activities. These activities range from tree plantings and sporting activities through to providing support for families who are finding it difficult to put food on the family dinner table.
One sign of a healthy Community is where you see the many groups around supporting each other, and the most recent of these was the Lara Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc, Lara RSL and Lara Sporting Club conducting an Anzac Day Cup Lunch on Saturday 27th April. Both your board and staff from the branch were represented at this annual event. All proceeds from the day went to the Lara RSL. Well done to those three organisations.
Banking with your Community Bank is one way you can help us support a huge and diverse range of people and groups in our fast growing district.
