As always, we have had a busy month, commencing with the wrap of our fantastic 10th birthday celebrations. Thank you again, to all that came to help celebrate this milestone for us.
Five our volunteer directors attended the annual conference in Marysville earlier in July. These conferences are invaluable and give us a chance to network with other Community Banks around the state and hear what is working well for them and come back with ideas for our local branch. In Marysville, the sense of community was ever strong as they commemorate the 10th anniversary since the Black Saturday fires.
This month in our local community, we supported the annual mental health night organised by the Lara Chamber of Commerce and presented a cheque to the value of $1,500 to Project Thrive. The Lara Care Group also held their annual tree planting day which we proudly support every year by providing funds for purchasing the trees. It was wonderful this year to see that the weather was kind, with about 40 people coming to help. We also attended the Friends of Kevin Hoffman AGM and we were presented with our gold sponsor certificate for our ongoing contribution to this beautiful part of Lara.
Next month, our second Community Investment Program for 2019 will open for submissions. We invite all community not-for-profit groups to come to our information evening on August 15 (book below) to find out more about this program. Earlier this year, we approved funding for 15 different community projects totaling just over $125,000. We again, look forward to seeing some exciting partnership projects being submitted this time around as well.
With your help, by banking with us, we can continue to give back to our community.
