Wow, ten years old.  Today, our Lara District Community Bank Branch celebrates its 10th birthday.  Yesterday, we celebrated the milestone with cupcakes in the branch and finished with dancing at the Lara Sporting Club.  A huge thankyou to the 120 people who joined us at the Lara Sporting Club to help us celebrate.  It was so good having our shareholders, our customers and many of the grant recipients join with past and present bank staff and directors along with members of the original steering committee who hatched and executed the plan to bring Community Banking to Lara, Anakie and Little River.

Formalities of the evening included announcing we have invested in excess of $1,000,000 back into our combined communities – 84 different groups and 250 different projects.  We have a lot to be proud of.  We also launched our 10 year celebration video on the night and you can view this below.

We had lots of good help in pulling the night together.  The Lara Sporting Club has never looked so good, lots of great food, friendly service and looking like a party zone.  Rob Gaylard was our local Master of Ceremonies and brought along some great stories about Bendigo Bank from when he lived in Bendigo, thanks Rob.  On the Keyboards another local, Oscar Edwards, who entertained us all night long (I was worried I was never going to get home). Thanks Oscar. In the branch during the week, local business Party on Us installed some eye catching balloon displays and staff wore commemorative shirts as well to celebrate the milestone.

We are so lucky to partner with so many clubs, organisations, schools, emergency services etc. It is important realise that it is the diversity of these groups  that contributes to all the good stuff that happens in our community. It is the members of these organisations that make it happen.
